How to Use the Equalizer in iTunes

Posted on March 7th, 2007 in Computer software/hardware, How To's | No Comments »

This is a very good page on how to use the equalizer built into iTunes.  The equalizer basically determines how much bass and trebble is added to each song and at what frequency.  Basically, using these adjustments is a really quick and easy way to make your music sound much, much better.

Read the article, or play a song, and try sliding the different bars up and down.  You’ll get the hang of it.  But the articles easier.

Bacon Soap!/ Teddy/ Squirrel

Bacon+lye+mold=Bacon Soap! … Deliciously absurd.

also…

Takeo Igarashi is a professor at the University of Tokyo who has created a number of different little programs that demonstrate concepts he has come up with.
I discovered his homepage on my quest for free 3d modeling software. The program Teddy is best suited to making little rotund characters that can then be animated using the program Squirrel. The latter demonstrates the concept of spatial keyframing, a very novel and simple approach to 3d animation.

Do you go to the apple store and pay a ton of money to get it changed? Well..you could. OR, you could go and watch this how to movie and learn how to do it yourself. Its very simple, and easy. First though, try a reset. sometimes, it may have lost its sync with the battery and a reset will do the trick. Watch the video on Ifixipodsfast

Note: If your Ipod is still under warranty by all means bring it to the apple store, and flashladybug accepts no responsibility for any damage that may result from any attempts to repair a broken Ipod.

PSA : 22 Ways to Reduce Eyestrain

Posted on February 23rd, 2007 in How To's, PSA-Types, Site of the Day | 2 Comments »

I know that I spend loads of time sitting in front of this computer screen each day, and that’s just to complete homework, and doesn’t include the hour (on a slow day) that I spend looking up stuff to post on the blog, and some days, eyestrain can be a real headache.

Here’s a list of 22 ways to reduce eyestrain.

Some Basics :

1.  Don’t sit too close to the monitor.  An arms length away is good.
2.  Don’t use a light source behind the monitor.  Get a lamp off to the side of the monitor on the desk instead.
3.  Get an eye exam – glasses while on the computer may help.
4.Avoid working in a dark room.

I’d strongly reccomend reading the full article, because even if it doesn’t help you, I bet you know someone who it can help.

Are you bored? Do you have nothing better to do than find different ways of sending email? Well….here’s your chance. Did you know that you could be a crazy command prompt idiot and send all your emails through TELNET?….
well…now you can.

Why not telnet email? :P
In windows, just run command prompt
type telnet
enter
type o mail.myserver.com 25  where mail.myserver.com is your smtp server. could also by smtp.server.ext
and now…we turn over the tutorial to ricky. :D
Ricky’s Web Review contains the rest of the steps to email your friends through telnet. Good luck….
You can also send email through your own computer by setting it up to be an smtp server of it self through ISS
or…you can write vb script to do it. Either way…your an idiot for not using gmail. :) but…it can be fun to send email via telnet. lol

Fix IE7 so its Normal!

Posted on February 9th, 2007 in Computer software/hardware, Dumb Things That Happen, How To's, Tech News | No Comments »

Ever since i upgraded to IE7, one of my major annoyances was the way the menu bar is located. Seriously though, WHY did they have to move it?? Its just not natural for the menu bar to be UNDER something. I couldn’t move it either. It was annoying. Very…
Well…it seems as if a bit of registry editing will do the trick.

Here is how you do it. Copy the following text into a text file:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser\]
“ITBar7Position”=dword:00000001

Its the stuff in bold. Save the text file, then change the extension to .reg
Double click on it now that it has the nice registry icon, and let it update the registry. Voila, your IE is fixed.
Now…if someone could figure out if its possible to make it not try to test if about:blank is a phishing site. It shouldn’t take 3 whole seconds to load BLANK. ….
Thanks Unhandled Perception!

Wonderful tool. Its a holy grail for me :P
DVD Flick is a DVD authoring tool. free and absurdly easy to use too!
With it, (its a windows tool) you can create a dvd project. Do nothing except import in your video. It will self encode AND burn for you! Saves you the trouble from first encoding the right way, then formatting it for a DVD, then burning it. Check it out: DVD Flick
