SanDisk Solid Memory for Laptops
Posted on January 4th, 2007 in Computer software/hardware, Science!, Tech News | No Comments »
Finally! Headway on the solid memory areas. SanDisk has released a 32 gig drive for laptops that uses flash memory. Sadly, its available only to manufactuerers…which means I’m going to have to find a way to get one
No prices or manufacturers indicated, but they should come out first half of 2007.
They have no moving parts, solid, are essentially indestructable
and are faster. Say hello to LIVABLE BOOT TIMES!
They plan to make a 1.8 inch package or 2.5 in. Meaning…I could swap it out with a normal harddrive! Though small…it would probably very useful.
Using one on a laptop is predicted to increase price of the laptop by 600 bucks. Expensive….
Hopefully, they will erode prices in time and increase size, because a good sized flash harddrive…I would get one. Now. Read it here: SanDisk
