Solar Power making a comeback in CA

In California, solar power is beginning to make a comeback as more and more people are realizing the impact solar power can have on the environment and their wallets at the same time. More and more people are buying solar cells for their homes, providing power directly from the sun. More and more green buildings are going up all around, tying to eliminate as much of an impact on the environment as they possibly can. It’s not like these people are all complete fanatics, but people who simply see the chance to do their part in making the world a better cleaner place.

Personally, I believe a good chunk of our future in power needs lies in solar power. Wind power is a great natural power source, but there’s sun everywhere. Not everywhere gets a lot of sun, but as solar cell technology advances, we’ll see more and more power generated from smaller and smaller cells. Also, electric power is one of the cleanest forms of energy. Sometime in the future, we will run out of oil. No one is certain when, but it’s going to happen sometime. Also, no one can deny that electric power isn’t useful. Electric motors are some of the most powerful around, and if we invest in the technology, we will see even smaller more powerful AC electric motors. We use electric motors in drills, motor scooters, elevators, escalators, and hundreds of other places. Electric cars may face limitations now, but in the future, we could have smaller motors that use less power, and go farther for every battery charge. One day, we have cars where the only engine is used to charge the batteries. If we look back almost 100 years, electric power was a dominating force for light and power. Thousands of factories switched from water or steam power to electric power. Our era will be the era when electricity should rein superior once again.
