Okay, this looks like an interesting idea, and, in a way, its actually almost going back in time to an older print idea. Our current ink cartridges move across the paper depositing ink on the way. This is essentally an inkjet printer head the size of the paper you’re printing on. Run the sheet under it, drop the ink, run in another sheet. No motion, and it should be a fairly robust design that could well print many many pages per minute. My question would be about the resolution, because many laser printers can print very fast - especially newer ones, that even with a photocoppy, actually scan and then print the coppy from memory.
If it could be marketed coorectly, this could be a very cool product, although I have a few “issues” with some of the uses stated. If airports really wanted to do on-demand printing, they could do it currently with a laser jet. Also, personalized content could be availible now, but people just aren’t interested.
it would be interesting to take apart
